Malawi Cichlids

Lake Malawi is located in the southeastern part of Africa and is noted for being the site of evolutionary radiations among several groups of animal, most notably cichlid fish. There are at least 700 cichlid species in Lake Malawi with some estimating that the actual figure is as high as 1,000 species (no one really knows the exact numbers of spiecies). Malawi cichlids are among the most beautiful and interesting freshwater fish you can keep in an aquarium.
